On Sunday, December 3rd, Liz sang two songs for the annual Boston Common Christmas Tree Lighting For Macy's Department Store in Boston, MA.
Liz performed selections from her first two solo albums with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra on November 11th at Governer's State University in IL.
On November 6th, Channel 21, WLIW, the PBS station serving Plainview, NY aired a program recorded in March 2000 with Liz. She sang four songs for a program entitled "Stephen Sondheim and Guests" that took place at the 92nd Street Y in NYC.
On November 2nd, Liz participated in an onstage celebration following the 7:00 PM showing of Miss Saigon on Broadway in recognition of the show's 4,000 performance.
Liz participated in two performances of the cabaret show INFINITE JOY consisting of music by composer/lyricist William Finn (FALSETTOS). Held at Joe's Pub in NYC in October, Liz sang the title song and "I'd Rather Be Sailing" from A NEW BRAIN.
Liz recorded a song for the first release by her new record label, FYNSWORTH ALLEY. The Stephen Sondheim Album is a compilation of songs by the composer and Liz sings "Everybody Says Don't" from Anyone Can Whistle on the recording. The CD came out on October 1.
On September 24, 2000, Liz performed in Bejing, China at the Gala for China's new English language TV Station CCTV-9. She sang Memory and was backed by two ice dancers(!).
Liz performed her cabaret show at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights (Chicago), IL on Sept.7, 8 & 9.
On July 7 and 8, Liz performed with Roger Bart, Debbie Gravitte, and Alton Fitzgerald White in Slovenia (formerly Yogoslavia) in two concerts of Broadway music.
On July 28 and 29, Liz performed in a workshop of a new musical called "90 North" at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
From April 6 - 9, 2000, Liz returned to her hometown of Chicago to play the title role in "One Touch of Venus." The Kurt Weill-Ogden Nash musical is the second installment in the "Ovations!" series at the Auditorium Theatre. Gary Griffin directed the staged concert reading with full orchestra.
Sibling Revelry, the cabaret show by Liz and her sister Ann, was performed on Sunday May 21st at 7 PM as a benefit for the Hudson Stage Company at the Irvington Town Hall Theater in Irvington, NY.
On March 24th, Liz performed in the Terrace Room at Lincoln Center in New York City. The show was called THE BEAT GOES ON, LIZ CALLAWAY SINGS THE 60s. It included pop, theater, and movie songs from that decade.
On March 19, 2000, Liz sang four songs by Stephen Sondheim at an interview/discussion with the composer at the 92nd Street Y in NYC.
Liz performed a solo show at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY on March 11th.
Liz recorded tracks for a studio concept cast recording entitled FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD / THE AWAKENING. This CD features songs from three musicals by the same composer/lyricist team and Liz is the lead for FFTMC. It is released by Original Cast Records.
