Liz performed at the METROPOLITIAN ROOM for two shows on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2009. The 8:00PM show was Passage of Time (back by popular demand) and the 10:30PM show was called Countdown with Callaway!, which was a "Best of Liz" show.
On November 16, 2009, Liz performed in BROADWAY UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL: MARVIN HAMLISCH at The Kennedy Center in Washington, CD.
Liz performed in BROADWAY LEADING LADIES on November 6, 2009 at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport , NY .
Ms. Callaway performed as part of CHASE AND CHEMISTRY: A Centennial Celebration of the Music of Frank Loesser on October 26, 2009. The event will took place at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City and included Sir Paul McCartney, Hugh Jackman, Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell
Liz completed a special one week engagement at the Metropolitan Room in NYC from October 20 – 25, 2009 to launch her new CD. Liz obtained some wonderful reviews for her performances as part of this engagement.
On October 21, 2009, Liz performed and signed copies of her new CD at the BARNES & NOBLE at Lincoln Center (Broadway and 66^th).
Liz appeared with host Seth Rudetsky on Sirius XM Live On Broadway on Friday, October 16, 2009 on SIRIUS Channel 77 and XM Channel 75.
Liz appeared on Ron Forman’s Sweet Sounds heard on WKRB 90.3 FM and on the Internet at WKRB.ORG on October 11, 2009. Ron and Liz discussed her career and also played selections from Ms. Callaway’s CD’s, including her new album, Passage of Time.
On October 8, 2009, Liz performed with her sister Ann and their mother Shirley Callaway at Family Night at the Cabaret Convention 2009 presented by The Mabel Mercer Foundation.
Liz hosted and performed in BROADWAY CLOSE UP: GIRLS LIKE US on October 5, 2009 at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City . This concert featured the music of Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon. Joining Liz was her sister Ann Hampton Callaway, Jessica Molaskey, Capathia Jenkins and Barb Walsh.
Ms. Callaway sang as part of the 2009 ENCOMPASS FALL GALA at the National Arts Club in New York City on October 4, 2009. This event was a musical salute to Maury Yeston and Joseph Stein.
On October 3, 2009, Liz and her sister Ann presented their award winning cabaret show SIBLING REVELRY as a benefit for the St. Scholastica Academy in Chicago , IL .
On September 14, 2009, Liz served as mistress of ceremonies for a special benefit at Sardi’s honoring Local One IATSE President James J. Claffey, Jr.
Liz sang the “National Anthem” and “God Bless America ” at the Mets / Cubs game on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Citi Field.
On August 4, 2009, Liz performed as part of the 2009 SOUTHERN VERMONT ARTS FESTIVAL. She presented Liz Callaway: Broadway to Pop, featuring a tribute to Barbra Streisand.
On July 21, 2009, Liz sang as part of ALL SINGIN’, ALL DANCIN’, which was part of the 2009 Summer Broadway Festival at The Town Hall in New York City.
Ms. Callaway sang at a concert on July 20, 2009 benefiting the youth programs of the New York Civil Liberties Union. BROADWAY STANDS UP FOR FREEDOM featured Liz, as well as many other performers including cast members of Hair, Michael Rupert, Stephen Bogardus, William Finn, Celia Keenan-Bolger, and Daphne Rubin-Vega. The show took place at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in Washington Square South, New York City.
Liz performed her solo cabaret show at TIM MCLOONE’S SUPPER CLUB in Asbury Park, New Jersey on July 2, 2009.
On June 27, 2009, Liz sang as part of the “Grand Finale” of the JOHNNY MERCER SONGWRITER PROJECT at Northwestern University in Illinois.
Liz performed her solo cabaret show in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 5 & 6, 2009 at the AMERICAN CABERET THEATRE.
On June 3, 2009, Liz performed with Lea Salonga at the DIVERSE CITY THEATER COMPANY ANNUAL PATRON DINNER in New York City.
On May 19, 2009, Liz sang two songs as part of the 8^TH ANNUAL ELLIS ISLAND FAMILY HERITAGE AWARDS event held in the Great Hall of the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
Ms. Callaway sang “Not A Day Goes By” in this year’s WALL TO WALL BROADWAY: A Century of Musicals at Symphony Space in NYC on May 16, 2009.
Liz performed with Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz on May 2, 2009 in Louisville, Kentucky as part of a charity event for OPERATION OPEN ARMS. The 7:30 event took place following the Kentucky Derby in Louisville early that day.
Liz read poetry (“Little Ears, Little Eyes” by Samantha Hunt) as part of THE INAUGURAL EVENT: A Night of World Premieres at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space in New York City on April 28, 2009.
On April 27, 2009, Ms. Callaway performed along with Jason Graae, Martin Vidnovic, Catherine Cox, and others in the SONGBOOK SERIES at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts’ Bruno Walter Auditorium in NYC. The cast performed songs by Grant Sturiale.
As many of you know, Liz is a serious tennis player, and one of the teams she plays on competed in the Tri-Level Section Playoffs at the Billy Jean King National Tennis Center from April 24 – 26, 2009.
On April 2, 2009, Liz performed live on THE TODAY SHOW with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. She sang a song entitled “Standing With Hope”, which was written by Ms. Gifford and David Friedman, as part of the show’s “Everyone Has A Story” series. On March 21, 2009, Liz performed her solo show at RAMAPO COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY.
Liz was joined by Scott Coulter, Debbie Gravitte, and the composer himself in STEPHEN SCHWARTZ AND FRIENDS at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego on March 9, 2009.
Ms. Callaway performed in DEFYING GRAVITY: Stephen Schwartz and Friends in Sarasota , FL at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center on March 1, 2009.
Liz and her sister Ann Hampton Callaway presented their award-winning cabaret show SIBLING REVELRY on February 8, 2009 in Naperville , IL at North Central College .
Ms. Callaway performed her solo show as part of CABARET ST. LOUIS on February 5 and 6, 2009 at the Sheldon.
Liz performed in BROADWAY TODAY: Millennium Stage 12^th Anniversary Concert at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC on January 31, 2009.
