New York City - A Hymn to Her

A Hymn to Her the all-new show from Emmy winner and Tony nominee Liz Callaway, Liz turns to the women who have inspired her to become the woman she is. Drawing from a vivid cross-section including Eydie Gormé, Barbara Cook, Carole King, Billie Jean King, Julia Child, Meryl Streep, Dorothy Michaels, and more, Liz pays tribute to her sheroes in story and song.

In a career spanning four decades, Liz Callaway made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, received a Tony Award nomination for Baby, and won acclaim as Grizabella in Cats for five years. She won the Emmy Award for her children’s show “Ready to Go.” She also starred on Broadway in the original casts of Miss Saigon, The Three Musketeers, and The Look of Love. She has recorded numerous solo albums, including the recent The Essential Liz Callaway and has toured the world as a major concert artist. She is also well-known as the singing voice of the title character of Anastasia, introducing the Academy Award-nominated song “Journey to the Past.”

The evening will begin with a catered sit-down dinner and auction before moving to the theatre for a show featuring many of your favorite Moon performers, headlined by Moon favorite Klea Blackhurst and featuring special guest star, Liz Callaway. The evening will conclude with dessert and afterglow performances by more Moonies.

All funds raised by the evening’s events will benefit Moon’s Capital Campaign to renovate the Gateway Theatre, as well as the expansion of MoonSchool’s education and outreach programs, which share the joy and magic of live theatre with hundreds of schoolchildren each year.

After a sold-out engagement last year, BIV is back to present more Broadway Our Way – LIVE. For the first time ever, BIV will be at “home” on Broadway for a full-length concert. Special guests Liz Callaway and Tituss Burgess join the bill to ensure an incredible night. A continuation of BIV’s YouTube series, this performance offers several new arrangements, as well as favorites from last year’s inaugural offerings. Combining Gospel styling with Broadway compositions, BIV produces a unique experience that is not to be missed. BIV’s choir members are accomplished individual performers as well, which layers nuanced storytelling into this incomparable group dynamic.


Tony-nominated Ms. Callaway is Broadway royalty. She is currently celebrating her remarkable 30-year career with the release of The Essential Liz Callaway, which highlights many of the songs she is known for, including “Journey to the Past” from Anastasia. The remarkable Mr. Burgess co-stars in the Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and has received three consecutive Emmy Award nominations for his depiction of “Titus Andromedon”. Additionally, Mr. Burgess’ Broadway credits include creating the role of “Sebastian the Crab” in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. BIV will be led by Tony-nominated founder/director/arranger, Michael McElroy.
